I looked into getting one of those, and when you think about it. Everytime you use it you have to add the premium on top so everything becomes more expensive. Ireland doen’t need to be any more expesive.
In America that service became very popular. Because it was Visa & Mastercard running it and the premium incurred could be linked to a standard Visa or Mastercard account, like a childs parent. Someone could also have a direct debit set up. Every month have x amount moved onto the card or when it reaches zero move money across. The whole service was set up really for teenagers in mind.
I have had one myself for about 6 months. I never used the bloody thing ..Gah that 5 euro fee!! and 2.50 to get cash back out!!!!.
I have a credit card too, so its of no real value to me other than security.
Rather than let 3v or VISA keep the dribs and drabs of cash on the end of vouchers I have been donating them to charity. 3vtocharity.info is a site where there are direct links to charity donation pages, so it saves you time and makes good use of what up until now has been going to waste.
