Irish Link Directory / Directories for SEO(ers)

Following up from Michele’s post “Irish SEO – Where to Submit Your Siteâ€? I decided to have a look for a few more Irish directory sites. Here are the results of 10 minutes work. Some of the sites are free, some are paid and some I have absolutely no idea how you get a link into them! Enjoy!

Several of them are more or less defunct, which is why you may find it impossible to submit a link. Others have so much dead wood that you wouldn’t want to be listed, while others are DMOZ clones :)

How many of these are ‘alive’?

The more I think of it, we really do need some sort of resource dediacated to Irish sites.

Just wonder what scrudu will be like.

Thanks for list – always handy!

I would say only about 1/2 of them are really “alive” .. if i get time i might go through the list .. the problem is that most of the active directorys are for niche groups.

Yeah I had a look at these and found only one or two that were usable.

I suppose that the Irish market is so small that directories are not viable. I see less and less directories online that actually generate any traffic these days anyhow – mainly just link farms (not complaining though :D )

It’s viable for those of us who knew that we were in it for he long haul :)

Scrudu is now up and running. We’ll have a submission page up during the week.

Nice list, although most give a 404 or a 500 error on submission or search. Drives me mad!

You forgot to add DMOZ localities ;)

    Hi Jason,

Great article but needs updating or archiving as many of the links are dead now.

What would be great to see is a directory listing by national, regional and industry breakdown. Working on something similar myself but there seem very few sites of sufficient quality to include.

Might also want to check your encoding as am seeing weird stuff in your content, e.g. Michele’s

    Cheers for the pointers anyway!
